Chargers End Season with Loss to the
Leola/Frederick Titans
The Chargers ended their season bid to return to
the state tournament a little short with a loss in the 2nd round
of the District tournament. The Titans avenged last years
defeat to the Chargers with a 60-54 win in the second round.
The Chargers were led by Senior Andy Thomas with 17 points, and
Blake Wilson with 12. Brad Henjum lead the rebounding
category with 15. Congratulations to the Chargers on a fine
season, ending 11-9.
Chargers Roll into Districts with Win over
Roslyn
The Chargers came out a little rusty, but managed
to come away with win over the Roslyn Vikings in Roslyn on Friday
night 59-45. The Chargers shot nearly 50% for the game and
78% from the free throw line. The Chargers were led by Blake
Wilson with 14 points, Andy Thomas with 12, Kasey Larson with 10,
Brad Henjum with 8, and Marcus Smith with 7. "We are
really balanced in our offense right now. Any person can
step on the court and lead us. That is why it is difficult
to defend us, because all of them can hurt you, commented Coach
Wright." The Chargers start their district play monday
night at 7:00 pm vs the Bristol Pirates. Good Luck

Charger Lose Tough One to Clark 70-64
The Chargers battled from a 21 point deficit in
the 2nd half to give Clark a run for there money. The
Chargers were led on defense by the outstanding play of Billy
Noethlich in the middle, and offensive were led by Blake Wilson
and Andy Thomas with 22 and 18. "It was a great overall
team effort tonight, especially on the defensive end. I'm
especially proud of how our kids never give up, no matter what the
circumstances are, commented Coach Bruening." We are
starting to play good basketball at the right time. It is
going to be another exciting March in Doland and Conde.
Chargers Lose to James Valley Christian 57-67
The Chargers battled the Vikings and came a way a little
short in the end. "We didn't play with the intensity
and desire that we need to be playing with right now. We
came out flat again and it took its toll on us, commented Coach
Bruening." The Chargers look to get back on track again
on Friday versus Clark.
Chargers Come From Behind to Beat Grant-Deuel
The Chargers fell behind 21-8 early in the 1st
half but fought back to pick up an important 64-54 non-conference
win. The Chargers were once again led by the hot shooting of
Andy Thomas with 21 followed by Kasey Larson with 14 and 10
rebounds. "We have been hitting our outside shots the last
couple of games and that opens everything else up for us in our
offense, comments Coach Bruening." The Chargers take on the
James Valley Vikings on Tuesday Feb 17th in Doland.
Chargers Defeat the Owls 77-55
The Chargers jumped out to an early lead and never
looked back in route to a non-conference victory over the Henry
Owls. The Chargers were led by Andy Thomas with 22 points,
including 4 3's, Blake Wilson followed with 19 points, 12 assists,
and 10 rebounds. "We have been playing great defense and it
shows in the points that we have been allowing, said Coach
Bruening." The Chargers have a huge week ahead of them with
games on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday this upcoming week.

The Chargers
jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back picking up a
non-conference win 77-45. The Chargers were lead by Andy
Thomas and Marcus Smith with 18 & 15. The Chargers held a 32
to 23 rebounding edge thanks to Billy Noethlich, Drake Patterson
and Austin Des Lauriers. The Chargers will face the Henry
Owls on Saturday @ Henry.
